Share your tips and tricks for getting your baby to sleep at night – I’ll update the post with your feedback periodically too.
Traci Hartman Gassen nurse your baby to sleep! I used to sing to my babies by just using a “loo loo” tone. worked pretty well…did not keep my daughter asleep though
Amber Wika my baby didn’t sleep through the night until 7 months. my advice- find a daddy that shares the nightly duties!
- Julie Gayler I did nurse to sleep but also…Keep the lights very low or off at night, and don’t interact as much as possible. They gradually learn that night time is boring. And contrary to what we think…don’t keep them up hoping it will make them sleep more. Babies need sleep when they’re tired or it throws them off and makes them more wakeful later. (My experience with all 3 of my babies anyway!)
Jessica Slebodnik routine routine routine!!!! works every single time!
- Skyler Jessica Gray With my little one, she gets over stimulated easy. So the more she sleeps during the day, the better she sleeps at night. I have to put her in the swing at the first little yawn during the day & she sleeps for a few hours at a time. If I don’t do all this she is up at night crying for hours before she finally falls asleep.
Deniece An Christopher Lukeala-Williams Routine is what we’re aiming for. Some days we keep Ryan awake for an hour or 2 before our actual bedtime and it works. He then sleeps through the night and only wakes up once or twice to feed then fall back asleep. overall he’s an easy baby who just wants to be held all the time.
Theresa Walczak A fan keeps mine lulled all night
