It’s not too often that I meet clients that want to wait until their baby’s birth date to find out the gender. We’re in a day and age where planning is everything and the perfect decor requires endless Pinterest hours, right? So, I am always a little surprised when parents choose to wait it out for the surprise of a lifetime. I envy their patience and find it all very endearing. I also can not imagine ever being that patient and persistent, HA!
When my friend announced that a new baby would be joining their family of 2 older sisters, I was not surprised when she also confided that the gender would be a surprise. The fact that they were hoping and praying for a boy, was no secret (although we all knew they would be head over heels regardless). So, when planning the newborn session came around, it was interesting. We discussed ideas for if baby was a girl versus if baby was a boy. There weren’t many “definites” in our conversation, except for one thing: If the baby was a boy, he would be called Jack.
Well, Jack he sure was – he made his debut to a very ecstatic mom and dad, along with 2 very tickled pink big sisters. It was a memorable experience to be on the outside watching a family dwell in joy and excitement from their surprise of a lifetime. Welcome sweet baby Jack!
